About Mr.
Mr. Omwony Sebit Wani is a Humanitarian and Development professional specializing in Resilience, Livelihoods, Food Security, and Market Systems Development (MSD), with over nine years of progressive experience designing and implementing programmes for refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities. He brings strong expertise in programme management, value chain development, financial inclusion, and private sector engagement, with a proven track record of improving access to agricultural inputs, entrepreneurship skills, and employment opportunities. His work focuses on building resilient livelihoods through market-based approaches, including Cash-for-Work (CFW), Food-for-Work (FFW), and access to microfinance, while integrating cross-cutting priorities such as gender, protection, climate-smart agriculture, and disaster risk reduction.
Mr. Sebit joined CORWADO in 2023 as Programme Manager and has since progressed through key leadership roles, serving as Head of Programmes before assuming his current position as Director of Programmes Strategy and Operations. In this role, he provides strategic and technical leadership across the organization’s programme portfolio, overseeing programme design, implementation, and donor compliance while ensuring the delivery of high-impact and sustainable results. He has previously worked with Food for the Hungry (FH), Save the Children International, and Africa Action Help International, leading multi-million-dollar programmes funded by major donors, including USAID/BHA. Known for his strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills, he plays a central role in advancing CORWADO’s mission to strengthen livelihoods, resilience, and inclusive economic development for vulnerable communities.
