Mr. Okwera Lawrence Okwang

Mr. Okwera Lawrence Okwang serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors at the Consortium of Rural Women for Agribusiness Development Organization (CORWADO). He joined the organization in November 2022 and has since provided strong leadership in guiding the Board’s governance, strategic direction, and oversight functions. With over 10 years of experience as a professional teacher in both government and private sectors, as well as engagement in business, he brings a wealth of leadership, management, and community engagement experience to the organization. As Chairperson, Mr. Okwera is responsible for fostering an effective and cohesive Board, ensuring high standards of governance, and providing strategic oversight aligned with CORWADO’s mission and values. He leads Board meetings, sets agendas, facilitates informed decision-making, and ensures implementation of key resolutions. He also serves as the primary liaison between the Board and the Executive Director, supporting leadership performance while maintaining accountability and transparency. Committed to ethical governance and effective stakeholder engagement, he plays a critical role in strengthening CORWADO’s institutional leadership and advancing its impact in empowering rural communities.
